Starting point:
Aktivpark Montafon in Schruns-Tschagguns
Directions:
From Aktivpark Montafon, you’ll first ride into the valley—or rather, follow the local bike path network—to Tschagguns, and then out of the valley via Kaltenbrunnen/Gantschier and Vandans to St. Anton im Montafon.
The longer climb begins at the St. Anton train station. Follow the road uphill toward Jetzmunt. After the first few switchbacks, the route continues uphill through several sections of forest. As soon as the forest thins out, you’ll reach the Bartholomäberg Panorama Road.
Follow this road to the center of Bartholomäberg. The Baroque church is a good spot for a short break. Afterward, stay on the Bartholomäberg Panorama Road and continue toward Innerberg. After an initially somewhat flatter section, the gradient increases again. In Innerberg, you’ll reach the highest point of the loop.
Below the Innerberg church, the descent toward Silbertal begins. The road winds downhill in several switchbacks to the Silbertalerstraße.
At the junction, you have two options: For a detour to the center of Silbertal and the Mining Museum, turn left. To continue directly, keep to the right and follow Silbertalerstraße along the Litz River out of the valley.
This will eventually take you to the town center of Schruns. Ride back to Schruns-Tschagguns and the Aktivpark Montafon via Bahnhofstraße and Wagenweg.
