Montafon Verwallrunde | New Heilbronner Hut to Gaschurn
Tour description
An idyllic high mountain route through the European protected area Verwall. From the New Heilbronner Hut, it goes over the Wiegensee to Gaschurn.
Public transport
This stage of the Verwallrunde Montafon is only accessible on foot.
Directions
The next morning starts the next stage at the New Heilbronner Hut and leads you down to Verbellaalpe. Before Verbellaalpe you cross the alpine road and take the path that leads over the beautiful alpine meadow towards Wiegensee.
After a short break at Wiegensee, the path continues to Inner Tafamuntmaisäß. Here you find the alpine hut for a small refreshment.
Well rested and strengthened, you start the last section of this day stage towards Gaschurn. Here the path leads you past Außer Tafamuntmaisäß down to the center of Gaschurn.
Equipment
Good ankle-high hiking boots with a good grip, take enough provisions and drinks, hiking poles recommended
Tips
At Verbellaalpe, you can strengthen yourself with a hearty snack platter.
