The Energy Trail tells the story of how electricity generation has transformed Partenen from a mountain farming village into a modern residential and tourist destination.

On this varied tour through Partenen, it becomes clear just how closely the town’s development is linked to the use of hydropower. Historic trails, terraced farmland, and power plants tell the story of the changes that electricity generation brought to this once-remote mountain farming village.

In addition to insights into the history of energy, you’ll encounter special sites along the way, such as the Gufelste, the Europatreppe 4000, and the Kopswerk I power plant. At the same time, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of Partenen and the surrounding mountains time and again.
