The Coral Reef
During the Triassic period, about 200 million years ago, a beautiful coral reef developed in a shallow, flat sea. After many mountain-building processes, a small remnant of this reef now protrudes in a ridge location west of the Kristberg saddle near Schwarzhorn on the "Upper Meadow" rocky out of the green alpine meadows.
