Tour description

The Montafonerhausweg shows the special features of typical residential and commercial houses, as they were built in the valley from the 15th to the 20th century. They are inseparably linked to the Montafon cultural landscape. From the town center, the route leads inland along the valley, then above the village on the sunny side with a view of the Vallüla. On the way back, a detour to the Balbier Waterfall in Gortipohl is worthwhile.

What makes a Montafonerhaus? This route shows the special features of typical residential and commercial buildings, as they were built in the valley from the 15th to the 20th century. They are inseparably linked with the Montafon cultural landscape. At five different stations, a characteristic feature of a Montafonerhaus is explained. This makes it easy afterwards to recognize the elements on other buildings in the valley as well. Many of the houses are of historical and local heritage value and are maintained with great care by their owners.
