Round around the Rifa compensation basin
Parking lot Rifa climbing garden (right before the Tschambreu Tunnel) - about 200m west is the starting point of the Rifabecken round
Downstream, between Gaschurn and Partenen, lies the Rifa plant of Illwerke vkw with the Rifa compensation basin. The compensation basin Partenen, built for the Vermunt plant, was not large enough to take the water from the Kops plant I. With the construction of the Rifa compensation basin, completed in 2010, the intermediate storage capacity was increased. The 1.3 km long trail leads around this compensation basin. Since this trail is lit until 10:00 pm, it is also suitable for a cozy round in the evening. Partial lighting until 0:30 am. Along the way are information boards about Illwerke vkw and their power plants in Montafon. Down the valley, the trail borders the small Trantrauas round. The Rifabecken round is part of the large Trantrauas round, which is about 4.5 km long. Due to its shady location, it is very snow-safe. Nevertheless, from late morning to early afternoon, you can also enjoy the trail here in sunshine.
