Greetings! I am Marie.
I'm a ten-year-old shepherd girl and I'm taking you on a journey into the past - into a world away from the hustle and bustle of today. Here, in this remote mountain landscape, I was born 130 years ago in a simple wooden hut, the so-called Maisäß. Imagine, at that time there were no roads in Gargellen, no electric light, not even a school for us children. It was the small pleasures that defined our everyday lives: a cup of lukewarm milk, the birth of a healthy calf or the shining starry sky above the Schafberg.
The locals lived to the rhythm of the seasons, the cattle and nature determined their simple lives. Follow the signposts with the name "MARIE", listen to my stories from the past and accompany me to wondrous places. As a shepherdess, I know all kinds of paths and will lead you and your family to hidden huts, rippling waters and my animals - which you can even stroke!
