Tour description

A hike to the foot of the imposing Vandanser Steinwand and the remains of the legendary Valkastiel castle ruins. As you move away from the town center along the Mustergielbach, the Vandanser Steinwand rises more and more before you and you get the feeling of walking into it. Flanked by increasingly steep rock walls, you come directly to the "Schlosswand", an impressive rock spur surrounded by wild streams. Here are the last remains of a medieval castle complex. The purpose and origin of this castle complex remain a mystery, but the wild water and steep rock walls give rise to stories and make the legends surrounding the castle "Valkastiel" tangible.
